About

sound ° resonate

We are what we feel and feel what we are

Patience, quietness and empathy are at the foundation of my work. My method is based on sound medical knowledge as well as a deep physical awareness and subtle touch. I experienced “first-hand” that pain can be understood, and that understanding can bring relief and healing.

For the past twenty years, I have been studying the correlations between the body, movement and cognition. My interest was kindled when I began practicing the Japanese martial art, Aikido, and found that the training significantly increased my capacity to write.

One of my Aikido teachers brought my attention to osteopathy which to this day, is a corner stone of my therapeutic approach.

movement creates experience

In addition to Aikido, I immersed myself in the study of various martial arts from different traditions and cultures, including Sun-Style Xingyizhuan and Bahguazhang, traditional Qigong, as well as a traditional Norwegian staff fighting system, and Nami Ryu Aiki Heiho — a modern martial system based on the principles of traditional Japanese sword combat. The exchange with international teachers allowed me to see the study of movement as a way to gain deep cultural understanding.

resonance can initiate healing

In parallel with martial arts, I took lessons in functional voice training, explored the depths of prenatal experiencing, and studied with Patricia Bardi, one of the pioneers in the field of Somatics and creator of Voice Movement Integration (VMI). In 2021, I joined the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA) and was accredited as Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist (RSME/T)

Currently, under the guidance of Dr. Jack Miller, I am learning to facilitate The Phoenix Project, a Jungian rite of passage for dealing with grief and loss that includes self-expression through movement and art.

I enjoy moving along the edge between the physical, felt experience and its expression, specifically by means of language. Every living form is an expression of its own complex reality, so that through sensitivity and patient listening, we can enter into resonance with these realities and find ourselves deeply connected to them.
